Arlene Montevecchio
Arlene F. Montevecchio joined the Klau Institute for Civil & Human Rights as Associate Director in July of 2024. In this role, she oversees operations of the Institute and advises the Minor in Civil and Human Rights. Arlene previously held directorships at the Gender Relations Center (Notre Dame), Center for Spirituality (Saint Mary's College) and Center for Social Concerns (Gannon University). Arlene has taught courses in Moral Theology and Catholic Social Teaching and led experiential learning trips with students to Guatemala, Haiti, and Washington, D.C. She has written articles and book reviews for Horizons, Political Theology, The Religious Studies Review, Catholic Library World, The Grotto Network, and Notre Dame Magazine.
 
Arlene received her undergraduate degree from St. Norbert where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then completed a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University with an emphasis in Christianity, Ethics, and Politics. Arlene received a Young Alumni Award from St. Norbert College for her involvement in peace and justice activities.
