Summer Law Fellowships

Page Summer Fellows 2

The Klau Institute for Civil and Human Rights sponsors summer fellowships for Notre Dame law students working in public interest organizations that promote civil or human rights, and/or the enforcement of federal rights on behalf of underrepresented minorities. Fellows receive funding to assist with travel and living expenses, and upon return to campus, share their experiences with the wider community.

Funding

A Klau Institute Summer Fellowship varies, but has typically totaled $2000. Klau funding is separate from and in addition to federal work study or other grant and fellowship programs. Cost of living and funding received from other sources are relevant in determining the amount of the award.

Eligibility

Notre Dame law students who acquire a summer internship consistent with the above description are eligible for a Klau Institute Summer Fellowship. Both domestic and international internships are eligible for consideration.
