On January 27, 2015, CCHR hosted a panel discussion around the moral, political, and national security implications arising from the Senate Select Committee’s report on detention and interrogation. Panelists included Paolo Carozza, Director, Kellogg Institute for International Studies; Michael Desch, Co-Director, Notre Dame International Security Program; Thomas Durkin, Attorney, Durkin & Roberts, Chicago and Co-Director of the National Security and Civil Rights Program, Loyola University Chicago School of Law; Kelly Jordan, U.S. Army, Ret., and Former Commander of the Notre Dame ROTC Program; and Jean Porter, Professor of Theological Ethics at Notre Dame.
Designed to engage the subject of torture from various perspectives, the event attracted wide attention from both student and faculty communities and provoked much thoughtful discussion.
