Join ND Votes as they present Melinda Fountain, who will speak on the importance of local civil engagement and her journey from diplomat to state senate candidate.

Fountain is an associate director at the Keough School, where she mentors students for careers in public service and international affairs. After earning her master's degree in European Studies, she served as a diplomat in the United States Foreign Service for over ten years. She and her husband, Tom Cumbow, served in Warsaw, Poland; Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia; Tirana, Albania; Washington, DC; and at the United Nations in New York. She is an elected member of the Clay Township (St. Joseph County) Board and a Democratic Precinct Chairperson. Fountain is currently a candidate for the Indiana state senate.
