Sister Helen Prejean, known around the world for her tireless work against the death penalty, will give a public keynote as part of the World Church World Religions 2020 Conference, "Ways of Perfection and Devout Lives: Saintliness Across Traditions." Her talk is co-sponsored by the Klau Center.
Sister Helen has been instrumental in sparking national dialogue on capital punishment and in shaping the Catholic Church’s vigorous opposition to all executions. She is also the author of Dead Man Walking, her account of serving as spiritual advisor to Patrick Sonnier, the convicted killer of two teenagers who was sentenced to die in the electric chair of Louisiana’s Angola State Prison.
