A panel of professionals and students will discuss the recent Executive Orders. Panelists will discuss a number of topics and questions including: Do political actions like this ban actually achieve the goal of risk mitigation? What does the process of asylum and resettlement look like in the US? What message do Trump's Executive Orders send to nations around the world? Could the orders actually pose a threat to America’s foreign interests? How could future policies impact ND students, faculty, staff? What can we do to advocate for refugees in our community? The discussion will be followed by a Q&A where attendees will submit questions electronically.

Panelists include Rosemary Max (Director of International programs at NDI), Maria Blumenfeld (immigration lawyer at the National Immigrant Justice Center), Aluel Doldol (ND student from South Sudan), and Majd Alshoufi (ND student from Syria).
