Alexandra Levy on "Guilty victims of human trafficking."

Human trafficking has captured the public’s imagination as a morally clear phenomenon, but history and legislation tell a different story. In her talk, Prof. Levy discussed the realities of who human trafficking victims are - and what it means when we’re confronted with a narrative that doesn’t conform to our expectations. Prof. Levy challenges us to confront the difficulties faced by human trafficking victims who are themselves outsiders to the legal system, and thus the most vulnerable population.

Alexandra Levy teaches Human Trafficking and Introduction to the American Legal System. As an attorney at the Human Trafficking Pro Bono Legal Center, Levy regularly speaks on a variety of topics related to human trafficking litigation, and curates resources used by attorneys handling trafficking matters nationwide. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School.
