Alpha Sesay, 2006 NDLS LL.M. graduate and current Legal Officer for Open Society Justice Initiative, will discuss his experiences monitoring the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor in The Hague for the past two years and serving as National Director of the Sierra Leone Court Monitoring Program (SLCMP), as a member of a defense team at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, as a human rights lecturer at the University of Sierra Leone, and as consultant for Human Rights Watch’s International Justice Program in NY.
