Klau Center Summer Fellowship Recipients

2018 Klau Center Summer Fellows


 

Dwyer

Tom Dwyer, a second-year student with prior experience in public housing administration and community reentry programs, will serve as an intern at the Sargent Shriver Poverty Law Center in Chicago. The Shriver Center engages in both litigation and legislative advocacy, focused on combatting the root causes of poverty. Dwyer will spend the summer helping shape the organization’s advocacy efforts.


 

Green

Bill Green, also a second-year student at Notre Dame Law School, will work with Illinois’ Office of the State Appellate Defender (OSAD). Green has previous experience with advocacy on behalf of individuals seeking adequate health coverage, as well as those facing eviction from their homes. At OSAD, Green will work in defense of indigent clients in criminal and delinquent minor proceedings.


 

Skocik

Jessica Skocik has secured an internship with the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) at the Department of Justice, which is responsible for protecting children from sexual exploitation in various forms. Skocik will assist in investigations and prosecutions, with a major focus on human trafficking cases involving minors. Her fellowship is made possible in part thanks to the generous support of the Pasquale Family Endowment for Excellence.
